First shot?

Here is the first shot I have animated for my animation.

New Semester

The new semester began in september, BUT, my laptop broke waay back in August. I have been without a computer for over two months and it has been difficult to get much work done.

The good news is, I bought a new laptop yesterday and am able to continue with my work, thanks to a free download of 3ds Max from Autodesk. So yay! My work can begin.

I have started with one of the beginning scenes, Unluckyman looking up at the high walls of the Dome and sighing, then feeling fed up as it begins raining.

Pretty simple so far, just getting used to the concept of animating on 3ds Max, I shall post the video once I have downloaded Quicktime Player onto my brand new computer.

Additionally, my work for my dissertation has also begun. I am researching into the use of nonverbal communication in films and animations to convey ideas without needing dialogue. So far, I have introduced my ideas and talked in depth about the technical side of nonverbal communication and the seven main codes that define it. Next, an analysis of silent films.
